Vauxhall AC has terminated the fishing license for Harrold Country Park, the license will end on March 14th 2012. Why? Quite simply Beds Borough Council
wanted an increase in rent of 80% and to make the Club liable for adjoining land and utilities to the on site premises. We tried hard to negotiate an
acceptable deal but this was not on the table. Now for the GOOD NEWS!
Vauxhall AC has purchased the two lakes at the back of Tingrith Manor Lake! These are currently fished by Luton Angling Club and are known as Barretts Mere and
Woodlands lake. The two clubs have reached an agreement which will see both Clubs fish these lakes starting from March 14th 2012 until June 15th 2013. Tingrith Manor
Lake is not included in this arrangement and is only fishable by Vauxhall members. The two new lakes will be fishable in the closed season (not the Manor Lake) to existing members who buy a Spring Ticket.
Vauxhall AC now owns outright: Stanton Harcourt Lake, the Fieldes Weir stretch of the River Lea, the Girtford stretch of the River Ivel, the Willington stretch of the Great Ouse and
the 2 lakes at Tingrith.
Vauxhall AC has now reached an agreement to start an extensive restocking program at Sharnbrook pits. Over the next 5 years, Vauxhall will stock thousands of fish including carp, roach, bream and some tench. The carp will be of the fast growing strain and should be in double figures within a couple of years. This is fantastic news and will see a fast and dramatic improvement in the pit fishing at Sharnbrook. Stocking will start within the next month!
The club also intends some topping up at Woburn Sands and Stanton Harcourt.......lots happening!
Spring Tickets will be available to purchase for existing members only from the start of March. Stanton Harcourt Lake, Woburn Sands Lake, Sharnbrook Pits, the new lakes at Tingrith and the canal share we have in place with Dats.
